Food recalls reported. (Washington).(Brief Article) - The Food Institute Report

PRG Packing Corp., doing business as Packing Corp Ferris, Stahl- Meyer, Bronx, NY, has recalled approximately 77,000-lbs. of ready-to-eat franks and bologna. The following products were produced on May 11 and were distributed to food service distributors in CT, NJ and NY:

3-lb. to 5-lb. packages of 'Stahl-Meyer BEEF Frankfurters, HICKORY SMOKE FLAVORING ADDED', 5-lb packages of 'SABRETT SKINLESS BEEF FRANKFURTERS, HICKORY SMOKE FLAVOR ADDED' and 3.5-lb. packages of 'Stahl-Meyer's Turkey Bologna.' Reason for recall: The products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Renaissance Bakery, Corona, NY, has recalled 24-oz. packages of 'Apple Harvest' Bread. The estimated 15 packages were distributed to approximately seven independent markets in the New York City area between May 8 and May 18. Reason for recall: The product contains undeclared walnuts.

Standard Process, Inc., Palmyra, WI, is recalling SP Natural Peanut Butter Standard Bar, Multi-Vitamin Whole Food Health Bar. The 3,362 bars were distributed nationwide. Reason for recall: The bars contain undeclared sesame seeds or extra virgin olive oil.

Coca-Cola Consolidated, Charlotte, NC, has recalled 3-liter plastic bottles of Diet Coke. The 1,539 bottles were distributed in AL, GA, MS, and FL. Reason for recall: The bottles actually contained Coca-Cola Classic sweetened with a nutritive sweetener.

Kemps Foods, Lancaster, PA. has recalled 1/2-gallon containers of Hagan Pennsylvania Vanilla Ice Cream. The product was distributed through retail stores in WV, Western MD, Eastern OH, and Pittsburgh and Western PA. Reason for recall: The containers actually contain Peanut Butter Ice Cream.

Dudek Foods, Inc., Hamtrack, MI, is recalling 1-qt. Kapusniak 'Cabbage Soup' jars and 16-oz. boxed and packaged Pierogi Mushroom, Potato, Potato Cheddar, Potato Chive 'Pierogi'. The soup was distributed in the metropolitan Detroit, MI area through retail stores, and the pierogis were distributed in 16-oz. boxes and packages through distributor outlets in MI, IN and OH through Farmer Jack, Kroger and Meijer. Reason for recall: The products may contain undeclared whey, wheat, soy and dairy ingredients.
